"There's a point in life when you and your best friend drifted apart, either because you grow as different persons, or it just doesn't fit anymore. You have different lives, communication falters, and some things are better left unsaid. Then when you tried to mend the things that have decayed over a certain period of time, no string can hold things together anymore. The friendship just fades away. Sometimes you see your once-best-friend as a total stranger. A person once familiar now foreign and remote. And strangely, you feel okay with that. When it comes to the realisation that there are things that cannot be fixed and better left alone. That's when you can move on. There will be angst and sometimes a feeling of loss, but you deal with it because you're used to their absence. If you're lucky, you can smile at the memories of your childhood friendship that grew into familial bond. Not many can do this, though. Once in a while, you will miss your best friend. You grab your phone trying to make a call, then you put it back down knowing it was futile. So you just accept things as they are now, and you keep on living your life, and they theirs."
I just love this, it fits me clearly ☺ aku kutip dari salah seorang dosenku yang sekarang sedang kuliah diNew Zealand untuk gelar Phd nya.
